Child taken to hospital after Lake Hawea campground incident: St John says child in moderate condition after helicopter rescue

A young child has been taken to the Lakes District Hospital by helicopter late this afternoon after an incident at Lake Hawea, a popular South Island holiday camping spot.

A Hate Hone St John spokesperson told the Herald a helicopter and ambulance responded to the incident where the child was found in a moderate condition.
