Five fire crews fighting blaze in Fairlie shop

Fire crews are battling a fire at a shop in Fairlie, a small town in the Mackenzie District.

Crews from Fairlie, Pleasant Point, Geraldine, Timaru and Washdykes have been sent to extinguish the blaze, which was reported on Main Street around 2.10am.

Early this morning a fire investigator was heading to the scene.

Nobody had been reported inside the shop at the time, Fire and Emergency said.
