Police arrest man after New World security guard suffers stab wound

Police were called to the New World supermarket on May Rd at 3.40pm.

Police have tonight arrested a man after a security guard at an Auckland supermarket suffered a stab wound today.

The 25-year-old has been charged with wounding with intent to injure.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

The man was charged following an inside at a New World supermarket in Auckland’s Mt Roskill.

Police confirmed they were called to a supermarket on May Rd at 3.40pm after the security guard was stabbed in the arm.

When police arrived, the person involved in the altercation had allegedly left the store.

Police later located a man elsewhere.

A Hato Hone St John ambulance spokeswoman confirmed they attended the scene and treated a patient with minor injuries.
