SH1 closed, four injured in serious crash near Karapiro

A serious crash in Karapiro has closed part of State Highway One as emergency services respond.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said two ambulances and one rapid response unit attended the incident.

“Four patients were treated and transported to Waikato Hospital,” they said.

One person had suffered critical injuries, another patient was moderately hurt and two had minor injuries.

A police spokesperson said the Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
