Volvo Cars New Zealand delivered a strong Q1
result, finishing 67 per cent ahead year-on-year

signalling a clear return to momentum for the
brand.

sale from only $149,990 with demonstrators available in

Volvo Cars New Zealand is signalling a
powerful return to form, announcing exceptional first
quarter performance, with new product and pricing across its
electrified lineup. The brand has recorded a strong start to
2026, with total Q1 sales up by 67 per cent YoY, and
electrified models following overall growth trajectory with
66% growth YoY
, signalling renewed momentum as
demand for electrified vehicles accelerates.

The
launch of the fully electric Volvo EX90 and strategic
pricing parity across the seven-seat battery electric and
plug-in hybrid models is central to this growth, removing
one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption while
strengthening Volvo’s European premium value proposition
here in New Zealand.

Flagship SUVs and electrified
pricing strategy lead the way

Volvo is among
the first premium vehicle brands in New Zealand
to
offer price parity between BEV and PHEV SUVs.

In
March, Volvo launched its most advanced vehicle to date –
the fully electric Volvo EX90 – into the New Zealand market.
The seven-seater EX90, Volvo’s safest SUV ever produced
to-date, is now on sale nationwide from $149,990*, with
demonstrator vehicles available for test drive at Volvo
retailers, introducing customers to a new era of
Scandinavian design, cutting-edge safety technology and
sustainable luxury.

To remove hesitation around
electrification choice, Volvo Cars New Zealand has also
repositioned pricing on the seven-seater XC90 Plug-in Hybrid
T8, from $161,990, to now be available for $149,990*,
effective immediately.

Further strengthening its
electrified portfolio, Volvo Cars New Zealand has introduced
a new mid-size SUV variant, the XC60 Plug-in Hybrid
T8 Black Edition,
priced from $119,990*.
With limited stock available, the Black Edition
combines Volvo’s bestselling SUV with high performance
plug-in hybrid capability and distinctive blacked-out
styling, delivering strong value in the premium midsize SUV
segment.

In a market where EV adoption has been
influenced by upfront affordability and policy shifts, this
pricing approach directly addresses one of the most
significant remaining barriers to electrification in New
Zealand. As a result, fully electric Volvo vehicle sales are
up by 66% in 2026 compared to the same period in
2025.

This strategic pricing achieves parity
between Volvo’s flagship fully electric and plug-in hybrid
SUVs,
ensuring customers no longer need to choose
their powertrain based on price, but rather on what best
suits their lifestyle.

With strong early-year growth
and, confident leadership in electrified pricing, together
