A 6-year-old missing from his South Auckland home has been found safe and well at a friend’s house after an extensive search.

Anton was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants when he was last seen at his home in Manurewa’s Randwick Park today.

In a plea to social media this evening, a family member of the boy said they had been out driving everywhere to find him.

A later update said Anton had returned safe and sound and was “back home with his mummy”.

“Heaps of tears [of] relief… thanks again for everyone.”

Police earlier urged anyone who thought they had seen Anton today or had information which might help find him to get in contact immediately.

In an update shortly after 8pm, police confirmed he had been found safe and well at a friend’s house.
