Car and motorbike crash blocks State Highway 2 in Waipukurau

Emergency services including a helicopter are responding to a crash that has blocked the main street in the centre of Waipukurau.

A police spokeswoman said they received reports of a crash involving a car and a motorbike on Herbert St, State Highway 2, about 11.10am.

She said some injuries had been reported, but more details were not immediately available.

A Hato Hone St John spokesman said paramedics were on the scene with one ambulance and a rapid response and a helicopter had also been dispatched.

A section of the road was blocked by emergency services as of 11.40pm.
