The fire on North Head could be seen from Auckland’s CBD.
A scrub fire that broke out on Auckland’s North Head on the southeastern tip of the North Shore peninsula this evening has been extinguished.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) spokesperson said they had multiple calls around 7.30pm from all around Auckland saying there was a fire on North Head.
“Two crews arrived and worked to extinguish a scrub and grass fire approximately 20m by 10m.
“The fire is now out and crews left the scene at 8.15pm.”
