One person has suffered moderate injuries after crash-landing a microlight aircraft near Peel Forest, Canterbury.
Emergency services were called to a report of a microlight aircraft crash-landing in the Peel Forest area about 2.30pm, a police spokeswoman said.
“The sole occupant removed themselves from the aircraft and is being assessed.”

A Hato Hone St John spokeswoman said one ambulance, a first response unit, a rapid response unit, and a helicopter were sent to the scene.
“Our crews assessed and treated one patient in a moderate condition . They have not yet been transported.”

A Civil Aviation Authority spokeswoman said the accident happened in the Rangitata Gore Road area, near ‘David’s Lookout’.
“First responders were called to the incident, and in the coming days we will work to understand what happened and why it happened. It is currently too early to comment on any further action that will be taken.”
